Below is the “official” projects to which House to House is continually committed. The
specific needs of people living here in Israel are as varied as the personalities you will meet on a visit. We address
those varied needs in the project listed last.
If our purpose aligns with your desire to help people living here in Israel, let us at House to House help
you fulfill your desire.
FOR CHILDREN
Project Happy Feet
Shoes are provided for school children whose parents do not have the means to provide them.
Warm winter footwear is especially important at the onset of the rain and cold in the Fall.
Project School Lunch
There are a large number of young school children that eat no lunch due to a shortage of lunch funding and parents that lack the means to provide their children with a lunch. As funds are made available, House to House purchases lunches for these children. A hot meal served at lunch may be their only hot meal for the day.
Project Book Bag
At the beginning of each school year, new back pack book bags are provided to children whose parents can’t afford to provide them.
Project School Supplies
Throughout the year, as the need arises and funds are available, school supplies are purchased and provided for underprivileged school children.
FOR WOMEN
A shelter housing women and children victims of abuse continuously advises House to House of immediate and urgent needs that exceed the limit of their budget: new items of clothing for the newly arriving women and children, strollers for women with infants and young children, car seats, stuffed animals for the children, school supplies, etc. House to House attempts to provide the large number of children living with their mom’s at the shelter with special treats and goodies during the holidays.
FOR SENIORS
Project Dignity
Elderly survivors of The Holocaust living in Israel are provided with whatever aid will elevate their human dignity in these their later years, by improving their substandard living conditions, elevating their below-poverty-level standard of living, and providing them with whatever form of assistance will help them live more comfortably.
Project TLC
Imagine being a senior citizen and living on a fixed income as much as 40% below the official poverty level. What do you do about your daily needs? What do you do when something "extra" comes up, or something breaks, or wears out? What do you do for hope? These dear individuals rarely ask for help. But if they do, to them, it is big. TLC, Tender Loving Care is what these dear ones need; and, that is what Project TLC is about. If they need it, we want to be there to help them get it.
FOR THE HUNGRY
Project Food Certificates
When we discover individuals, couples, and families legitimately struggling to put food on their table, we provide them with food certificates for groceries. People, even within the same family, have many dietary limitations and restrictions: food sensitivities and allergies, religious and medical dietary restrictions, and etc. Food certificates from a major food store allow the individual and family options of choice that are so vital for health and dignity.
And last but not least:
PROJECT HELP!
House to House senior staff uses their expertise and discretion in directing your donation to the area of greatest
need when it is ear marked for Project Help. We apply your donation to the most critical and urgent needs that come to our
attention through personal contact, social worker requests, shelter requests, school requests, and etc.
Please remember. House to House is about people. We, as you do, care about people. We desire to aid those dear ones struggling
under the weight of difficulty and hardship. This is our priority and our primary project.
