Project TLC for Senior Citizens
14 seniors were provided with one year subscription subsidies to a
Community Service Program that includes 24 hour home and person medical
emergency monitoring, handyman service, 24 hour phone conversation against loneliness,
daily organized games and activities, transportation for errands, monthly travel outings,
and a host of other great benefits for seniors.
2 rec'd 6 mos. medicine assistance; 2 rec'd 5 mos. medicine assistance; 1 rec'd 3 mos. of special intravenous food; 1 rec'd 6 mos. of eye injections to save the remaining sighted eye; 5 rec'd hearing aid assistance; 1 rec'd 6 mos. apartment cleaning assistance; 1 rec'd 6 mos. rent assistance; 5 rec'd supply of fresh fruit; 11 rec'd new warm winter blankets; 1 paralyzed shut-in rec'd new pillows, quilt cover, sheets, & pillow cases; 1 rec'd replacement glass for two broken windows.
Project Just say, "Taxi"'!
Presently 8 seniors with limited mobility due to age-related & medical difficulties that can't ride
public transportation have limited access to a taxi in order to transport them to their doctor appointments
and the hospital for tests and such. This project is experimental & under development.
Project Dignity for Holocaust Survivors
4 rec'd an increase in substantial monthly income assistance, and substantial transportation assistance
for the entire year. 1 couple was added to the above assisted group.
10 rec'd monthly income assistance; many rec'd transportation assistance; weekly prepared food assistance;
medicine assistance; new paperback books to read and exchange;
1 rec'd moving assistance to bring him a new-used bed & refrigerator.
An ambulance was provided that one of the Holocaust Survivors featured in the "Remember Me Leopold Rozen" video could appear at a showing of the video and speak afterwards.
Project Food Certificates; Hot Prepared Food; Family Assistance
76 families, representing 180 children rec'd food certificates for the New Year;
205 Holocaust Survivors are receiving a birthday gift of fresh cheese, jam, crackers, and a requested bar of creamy Dove soap;
1 family rec'd monthly food certificates for the year; numerous individuals rec'd a mos. of certificates;
2 shut-ins rec'd 21weeks of prepared and delivered meals;
1 couple rec'd screens for 4 of their windows due to severe night-time flying-bug bites
1 Family with 9 children rec'd financial assistance and a new washing machine.
1 Family with 2 children rec'd a year of monthly financial assistance and a new refrigerator.
3 Families rec'd rent assistance.
6 new winter coats replaced children's 6 ratty sweatshirts.
2 very needy young children rec'd brand new school clothes.
Project Happy Feet
546 pair of quality brand new shoes were provided to needy children and a few adults.
175 pair of quality brand new shoes were provided to Holocaust Survivors some of whom reported that they hadn't had a new pair of shoes in twenty years.
Women's Shelter Project
3 DVD Players for the Educational Center; 1 Baby Bed; 2 Cribs; Assorted Beddings;
Request for special toys for 29 children; 37 mothers with children rec'd 2 mos. of personal item certificates;
numerous moms and children rec'd shoes under Project Happy Feet;
special cakes from a specialty bakery to celebrate the women and children
Miscellaneous Projects
1 year's supply of school supplies were provided for the large percentage of underprivileged
children in the 400 member student body at one of the poorer elementary schools in Jerusalem.
A 1 year scholarship was provided for instructions to teach a deaf mother of two children that has never driven an automobile to learn to drive in order to get her Israeli Driver's License.
An IDF intelligence unit rec'd special survival gear.
2008 Digest of Activities

2 received water heaters; 1 received a washing machine; 1, suffering from a debilitating disease, received reclining wheel & bath chairs; 8 received one or more months of medicine assistance.
Project Dignity for Holocaust Survivors
4 assisted with substantial monthly income assistance, and substantial transportation assistance; 4 assisted
with limited monthly income assistance; 27 provided with monthly medicine assistance; 1 received a bed; The Remember
Me-Leopold Rozen Film Project was completed.
Project Food Certificates & Family Financial Assistance
127 families; at least 679 children, 70 adults, and 10 seniors received substantial food assistance.
6 families received temporary food and financial assistance for a month or more.
Project Happy Feet
425 pairs of new shoes were provided to children and some adults.
Women’s Shelter Project
3 new cribs, 2 high chairs, 20 new kid’s school chairs, cooking pot, quality kitchen utensils, lots of
baby stuff – bottles, bibs, etc. were provided the shelter for the women. The inventory for the new arrivals
was increased with: 26 new personal-sized warm blanket-wraps, 17 new twin bed blankets, 7 new girl’s winter
jackets, 12 new boy’s winter jackets, 2 new women’s warm-up suits, 17 pair of new women’s sweat pants,
41 pairs of children’s new shoes, 33 new children’s sweat suits, 16 pair children’s sweat pants,
11 children’s hooded sweat shirts, 39 boxes of new women’s underwear, 7 boxes of new children’s underwear,
30 pair new women’s slippers, 18 each 3-months of personal-needs certificates redeemable at a local super-store.
Miscellaneous Projects
1 year’s supply of school supplies were provided for the large percentage of underprivileged children in
the 400 member student body at one of the poorer elementary schools in Jerusalem.
A scholarship was provided to the Wall Street Institute of the English Language for a young man from an underprivileged family so he can attend University in the U.S. after his military service.
100+ pairs of socks were provided to the men and women soldiers in the IDF
2007 Digest of Activities
- 27 Families were assisted with help ranging from money for food & medicine to a pre-winter rain closure of an open hole in the roof, and everything in between.
- 2,000 individuals/ couples were issued redeemable food certificates.
- 13 Seniors were provided with one year subscription subsidies to a program that includes 24 hour home and person medical emergency monitoring, handyman service, 24 hour phone conversation against loneliness, daily organized games and activities, transportation for errands, monthly travel outings, and a host of other great benefits for seniors.
- 1,382 children received assistance: book bags (120 each), shoes (113 pair), school supplies (400 children’s-worth for a whole year), and 749 hot lunches.
- 15 Holocaust survivors received short-term assistance. 5 Holocaust Survivors were adopted to receive long-term assistance to impart dignity and quality into their lives, including some combination of the following: weekly taxi service to hospital or doctor and errands; weekly home helpers, monthly income boost to help with medicine & such; visitation to fuss over and love over them, especially one survivor who has no living relatives.
- 2 replacement hearing aids for a young mother who could not hear her babies cry.
- 2 senior’s dental work that gave them the ability to properly eat solid food.
- 1 senior subsidy to temporarily enter a nursing home until his daughter & care giver underwent surgery with peace of mind over him and returned home to resume his care.
